Breville makes the process a pleasure and the end result perfect, every time. With 3 feed chute options and 8 precision tools the Sous Chef 16 Pro brings professional prep to any kitchen. The mini feed chute prevents long thin ingredients like carrots from tipping over during slicing. The end result - a dish that tastes as good as it looks. http://www.drupalitalia.org/node/76585
It can be stored flat or on its side to take up less counter space. Why the Breville Sous Chef Food Processor. Every Breville product begins with a simple moment of brilliance. The Breville Sous Chef began with the observation that the food comes in many different shapes and sizes, making it difficult for one machine to consistently cut all ingredients into the optimal size pieces. So how do you make sure that you get the perfect size for what you’re cooking. The Breville Sous Chef solves this problem with its unique design. Its wide feed chute makes it possible to slice vegetables of all shapes and sizes, while numerous disc and blade options makes it easy to get perfect results, any way you slice it. Combining Convenience and Versatility: The greatest sliced thing since bread. Food processors are supposed to make food prep easier, not more frustrating. The Breville Sous Chef comes with a set of 8 discs and blades for numerous prep options, all housed in a convenient accessory storage. The discs include a variable slicing disc that can be set to 24 different slicing settings so you can customize the thickness of your slices from a paper thin 0.3mm all the way up to a thick 8.0mm. Other discs in the set include a julienne disc, a French fry cutting disc, a whisking disc, and a reversible shredding disc, while the blades include a micro-serrated universal S blade, a dough blade for kneading and combining ingredients, and a mini blade for use with mini-bowl. The Breville Sous Chef includes two bowls, a large 16 cup processing bowl and a 2.5 cup mini processing bowl, for convenient processing no matter what size portions you’re chopping. The 16-cup option allows you to blend up large servings of soup or dough, while the mini processing bowl is perfect for processing small amounts of sauces or nuts. http://givinggroup.com/images/breville-esp8xl-manual.pdf
Combining slicing options and two size choices with the convenience of the wide mouth chute, it is no wonder that the Breville Sous Chef was rated the best food processor in 2012 by a leading American reviewer of products. Product Features Small Food Pusher: for improved processing control of smaller ingredients. The food processor will run continually whether the small pusher is in or out Large Food Pusher for pushing food down the feed chute. The food processor will not start unless the large pusher is in place correctly. Feed Chute Safety System: prevents the motor from operating unless the bowl, lid and large food pusher are correctly locked in position. Super Wide Feed Chute so large ingredients don’t have to be chopped before being fed into the food processor Silicone Seal: reduces the chance of leakage while processing large volumes of liquid ingredients. Processing Bowl: 16 cup bowl for dry ingredients and 12 cups for liquid (wet ingredients). The processing bowl locks onto the motor base. Can count up or down, stopping the processor once the time is reached in count down mode. Solid Die-Cast Metal Base Direct Drive Motor: with safety braking system. Non-Skid Rubber Feet: for added safety and stability. All parts that come in contact with food are BPA free. Click on image to view larger. Christopher B. 1.0 out of 5 stars By November of 2016 the dough blade had drilled a hole through the lid and fused itself to the unit. Breville replaced the unit, but due to a backlog of orders, I didn't receive the processor until December 2016. In the meantime I purchased a Cuisinart processor and continued to use that until this spring. http://www.insurancedirectcanada.ca/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16286ab0ef4204---cable-tester-ct100-manual.pdf
I just recently unboxed the replacement Breville processor and have only been using it for about the last four months. Two days ago while making pizza dough, the dough blade drilled a hole through the lid of the food processor and fused the lid to the blade and the body of the processor. I've requested a full refund. This product has some very serious design flaws. It is certainly not worth the high price Breville is charging. This product should be completely redesigned before it ruins Breville's good name. I'm very disappointed by this product and will not be purchasing from Breville again. The first time this happened replacements were available. They are reasonably priced. No big deal. The second time this happened was during the holidays last year (November). We have been a waiting list for a new main bowl since then. It's August of the following year. Absolutely do not buy this under any circumstances without verifying that replacement main bowls are in stock. And, frankly, if you're going to invest this much, you should go ahead and buy several spare main bowls if you find them in stock. Because it's trash otherwise. It works fine. It's really nice looking, and it worked great for about 5 times. Then the bowl started leaking because a crack developed where the gear housing comes up from the center of the bowl. OK, well I've only had it about 90 days, I'm sure it won't be a problem. The FIRST TIME I called Breville, I was ON HOLD FOR 46 MINUTES before someone answered the phone. When I asked what their problem was, and why didn't they have any employees to answer the phone, I was told that the wait was long because it was Monday morning. Then they told me they would happily replace my bowl under warranty, but the MIXING BOWLS WERE OUT OF STOCK FOR A MONTH. About a month later, I still hadn't received my new bowl yet. AYTEKINPOLATEL.COM/image/files/canteen-management-manual.pdf
So I called Breville a SECOND TIME, this time on a Wednesday afternoon, and I waited ON HOLD FOR 1 HOUR AND 5 MINUTES before some poor slob decided to answer the phone. I was so infuriated that I had to waste two hours of my time on hold because of the complete arrogance of this company, I swore right then and there that I would never purchase another Breville product as long as I lived. It's been SIX WEEKS since my bowl cracked and I STILL DO NOT HAVE A NEW BOWL, and no one knows when they are coming in. This is the sorriest excuse of a customer service department that I have ever seen. Not only that, judging by the unprecedented amount of time I had to spend on hold listening to an endless loop of completely annoying Muzak before someone even answered the friggin telephone, this company either has an incredibly high failure rate of their products, or they have a severely deficient management team. UPDATE: It has now been OVER FOUR MONTHS and I still have not received my replacement bowl. Are you SERIOUS? For sure, Breville has replaced ATT as the worst customer service in the universe. I waited on hold for ONLY 38 MINUTES to be told that the bowl would be delivered in a couple of weeks, but as I mentioned above, it's already been over four months, so I knew they were just lying to me again. I finally demanded a refund for this worthless piece of garbage. Breville. Never again. UPDATE: I finally received my replacement bowl. It was almost six months before they finally got them back in stock again. Breville did replace the bowl under warranty. I was so exasperated, Breville agreed to refund my purchase for the unit and as the transaction was being processed, they notified me that they had finally received the replacement bowls. I was ambivalent about the entire situation, because on the one hand, when the unit is working, it's absolutely fabulous. {-Variable.fc_1_url-
On the other hand, it was inexcusable that I had to wait 6 months for a replacement bowl when Breville was already on notice that there was an issue with the bowl cracking down where the chuck goes through the middle of the bowl. So I decided to purchase a second replacement bowl as well, so that at least I would have a back up if the new one cracked, because this really is the best unit on the market for the price. It has a 4hp motor, for one thing. So, I ended up giving Breville a reprieve and I will try it again. But seriously, if you know you need replacement parts for a design defect in one of your more popular models, it was incumbent upon whoever is in charge of those things to get on top of the situation and not make people wait six months for parts. That's just stupid.I don't do that anymore. I purchased this item in the summer of 2016. I absolutely loved it but didn't use it much the first year. In 2017 and 2018 I used it about 3 times a month, mostly to make hummus. It is January of 2019 and I tried to use it yesterday. All the liquid poured out. After careful examination, there is a deep crack in the circular part at the bottom of the bowl, where the mixer attaches to the machine. Oh no! Well, I will just buy a replacement bowl, right. Not so fast, Breville claims those bowls are out of stock. After doing some research and pouring through reviews, they have been in and out of stock since 2017 and their customer service has gone down the tube. I asked to be notified when the bowls come back in stock but I am not holding my breath. It's a great product with a serious design flaw. You would think Breville would give great customer service for the price of their products but sadly this is not the case. I am very hesitant to purchase another product under their brand again.I don't use a food processor often, maybe 2-3 times a week on average, and when it worked, it worked great. http://www.cuerpomenteyespiritu.es/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/content/files/16286ab2204076---Cable-shifter-manual-transmission.pdf
However, right around the 6 month mark, I noticed the motor seemed to be getting louder and louder. When I went to take the lid off, the blade came with it. I called Breville and got an exchange, figuring it was a fluke. The second one I got, on the second use, started to do the exact same thing so I stopped using it and called Breville again. They said they would not refund my money but would give me an exchange again. Why do I want that??? So I can get more plastic in my food??? Since it's past the Amazon return date, I guess I'll just keep returning and getting exchanges from Breville until they figure out it's not worth it. Save your money and don't buy this item. The main bowl cannot be submerged in water to clean. The handle is hollow and water remains in the handle if submerged. Are you kidding me! Really bad. The other thing is the inner bowl is a gimmick. You will be taking it out and finding a place for it on your counter every time. Anything you can do in the inner bowl you can do better in the main bowl. So, you will be finding a place to store that thing. The machine controls do not inspire confidence. They haven't even programmed the thing to shut down after sitting there idle forever. Attention to detail is really lacking on this product. Unfortunately that's the case with most industrial design these day. Race to the bottom. Not sure what other options there are. Cuisinart is total junk these days. I went through 3 of them. 23 aug. my update after using it daily since purchasing.I also had the adjustable slices blade start to melt on some carrot slicing.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again It's never been placed in the dishwasher always hand washed. Unfortunately today I discovered a large crack at the bottom of the bowl where the spindle is attached. Hopefully it won't be ridiculously expensive to have a new one ordered. I like the case so I don't have pieces floating around. That was the primary reason I purchased this model. AYNADAKIKEMALIZM.COM/resimler/files/cantar-x2-manual.pdf
However, I have to say it's not worth quite what I payed when it cracks after 18 months. Or less as some people have mentioned.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Replace the bowl now twice and this time the bowl is on back order with no idea of when it will be back in stock.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Then I saw all the complaints about cracked bowls and went to check mine. Sure enough, there is a crack on one side and another one starting on the other side. Not impressed anymore. Would not buy another Breville product. At this price, that bowl should last the life of the machine.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I used the French fries blade to cut my beets. NEW REVIEW! I called Breville to tell them the blade broke in 2 minutes of use. The company was so helpful. The next time I use the machine I will update my review with more detail.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again With just a few uses it has melted away the plastic slot on the lid and deformed it to the extent that no other blade can now fit in the machine. Also, the melted plastic has made a layer on the dough blade so it can't fit the lid even if the lid is replaced. The customer support is not responding. The machine is still under warranty and I want a refund or at least a replacement of the lid and the dough blade.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again So far I have mixed dark fruit cake, sliced and diced several kilos of veggies for coleslaw and soups, made frozen desserts and used the mini bowl and small s-blade to make sauces. At first I was reluctant to get this model because I am used to two speed machines. This machine only has one speed (super fast) but I have still been able to do traditional slow mode tasks using the pulse button. In the new year I'll get around to making breads and doughs. I do not have a stand mixer so I hope the blades do not significantly heat up the dough. I'll update this review on cookie, pizza and bread dough preformance soon. While it's still too early to comment on the longevity of the machine it seems to be quite robust. I really appreciate the metal gearing at the bottom of the work bowl and the base is both sturdy and well designed with places to grab when moving it. Unlike some other machines I tried, it doesn't leak and better still you can remove the rubber sealing gasket to clean it properly. I only hand wash this appliance and compared to many food processors this is very easy to do. The storage caddy for the shredding, slicing and french fry blades is good too and also keeps the included brush and spatula organized. Everything has worked well and almost effortlessly aside from the cleanup. This machine is so fast that it's almost a no brainier to whip it out even for smaller jobs. If I had more counter space, it would be a permanent resident. The results with consistent technique are excellent and repeatable a credit to the induction motor. Some lesser powered models can cycle and bog down resulting in uneven results. That's not a problem here. If Breville only had made the mini bowl more vertical instead of sloped at the top it would be an even better product. Another difference (but not necessarily an inconvenience) are the lack of hole(s) for dribbling in olive oil and the like for emulsions. Instead you get a small plunger that you can unscrew the top of to measure the oil with. This really is a great machine and when on sale an excellent buy. P.S. All the models in this line are the same, the only difference is the paint job.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Good work Breville! It has worked flawlessly for a year and 6 days. On day 6, some sort of retaining washer has been found in the motor unit (see pics). Try to contact Breville by phone-wait, wait, wait etc so I leave my number for call back. In meantime, I try to submit email request using their forum. Won't accept a date past 1 year so I use tomorrows date. I do but their system says it's invalid. Interesting to see how this issue is resolved as it is 6 days past warranty expiration. Will update when they respond.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I only have good things to say about this food processor. A must in the kitchen. I am very happy with Breville: )Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again If the price tag is scaring you, like it did to me at first, it's totally understandable. I took a chance and ordered it (on sale luckily) and I do not regret it for a second. This thing is a monster. I like to make almond butter. Previous food processors would overheat and make too much noise. This beast is pretty quiet and finished the job in no time. I highly recommend this product. It is completely worth the extra few dollars. This thing is superior to other food processors.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Been prepping stuff from my garden and it makes quick work of it all. Giant zucchini, shredded in seconds, and holds enough at once to make it worth while. I can shred a whole block of 500g cheese in less than 15 seconds. Homemade fries with the french fry blade, also great, especially with all my garden potatoes. Adjustable slicing blade is also awesome, have even sliced sausage style lunch meat. Having the mini bowl is also quite handy for when you only want to chop a small amount. Homemade pie dough is also a breeze. The large chute is definitely another reason i opted for this beast of a food processor. IT also has a smaller slot in the chute for smaller things like carrots etc. Definitely is a hefty machine so I had to make a permanent spot for it on my counter.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again My wife and I are fairly accomplished home chef's and make a wide range of foods, so a food processor has always been seen as more of a potential storage problem than a great help. I now admit that I was wrong. The addition of the food processor has opened up the possibility of many more foods, and certainly cut down on preparation time. Now everything from pizza dough to biscotti to humus is an easy process. The trick is not to put the machine away, but find a surface in your kitchen in which is it always available. As a result of doing this, we use our everyday. Now, why this Breville. It's powerful (really powerful), and their designers gave it a lot of thought. Wide feed tube (with a safety that requires it to be in place before the blade will turn, but with a smaller integrated feed tube that allows for liquids to be poured in while it's running. The adjustable blade allows for great flexibility in cutting (we actually made our own potato chips), a smaller integrated internal bowl for smaller jobs (shallots and garlic), a whisking blade (for whip cream, or as we've done even your own butter). The timers on the front lets you know how long you've been pulsing for, and the other button allows you to start the machine and let it run. Finally, the entire family of blades comes in a hard plastic storage unit that you can stand on its side or upright. However, even if you leave it on the counter, it keeps the blades clean and covered. Despite great caution with every use, we've had 2 cut finger incidents in the month since we got it, so PLEASE be careful with the blades. This unit was substantially more than many other food processors, and while I have not tried others, I feel that this unit was good value for money. Heavy duty (heavy being the operative word here), robust bowl, blades, housing, and storage unit. We feel it was certainly worth the money and has changed how (and what) we cook. For your consideration.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again And, although i have a stand mixer for bread dough, I even used this processor for pizza dough and it works well (but it gets a bit warm if you make too big of a recipe). What I enjoyed the most is the adjustable slicer blade. You can slice vegetable very thinly. It is powerful and yet not as noisy as you would expect something that powerful to be. I also have the breville stand mixer which I also enjoy very much. As most food processors though, it is a bit tricky to shred cheese (specially softer bricks) as there can be a build up under the blade. And, the only unusual thing is that the push part piece (used to push food into the processor) does not go in the dishwasher, but no big deal as it cleans easily.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again It was a bit expensive but I think it was worth it. I was very disappointed that I couldn't find replacement parts so I bought this one. I read complaints about cleaning but if you use the included brush to clean it I don't see a problem. I wash it by hand because I don't want the plastic to degrade in the dishwasher. Hopefully it outlasts my Kitchenaid and honestly if it weren't for the heat of the dishwasher my Kitchenaid would likely still be with me as the motor on it was still fine.Sorry, we failed to record your vote.
